Edas diagnoses included Poly-substance Dependence and Antisocial Personality Disorder. Despite these diagnoses, Ed did not qualify for disability payments. Ed was extremely upset about this and he initially blamed Barry Delgado, the disability specialist who evaluated his case. Because Barry left Baywood suddenly, Ed could not vent his anger on him.
As a result, he decided to blame Bill Taylor. Ed began terrorizing Bill and his family in order to get him to change the report he had written on Ed. Bill went to the police and hired bodyguards to protect himself and his family, but these actions were ineffective. Bill had several confrontations with Ed- the final one had dire consequences.
